9/5 NYC

After a short rest with the Hubbard's in Connecticut, Carrie, Emily, Summer, Rhonda and Jeff headed to New York. We drove to New Haven then took a train to Manhattan. Then Jeff, Summer and Rhonda took a subway and ferry to the Statue of Liberty while Carrie and Emily went to the Metropolitan Museum.

We climbed hundreds of stairs to the top of the base of the statue.

Next we rode the ferry to Ellis Island and learned about the immigration experience for millions of people.
We met the girls' moms in Central Park and dined on NY style pizza and cookies. The kids climbed rocks in Central Park.
We shopped at the Corner Bookstore and played at a park before heading for home.
We were late getting to the train station, but fortunately our train was late!
